The History of Mobile Phones
This article briefly discusses the history of mobile phones, which has been dominated by the Cellular Telecommunication (also known as CTI). To give it as unbiased and accurate as possible, have first given a brief overview of the evolution of telecommunication industries, and then about the various telecommunication companies, namely the major mobile providers of UK, throughout the years. During those times, a contract was considered to be one of the most common ways of procuring a handset or a brand new mobile phone. In most cases, a user was entitled to a particular amount of free talk time with a local phone service provider. It was a very simple and convenient way of buying a handset.
Mobile phones have undergone a few major changes since then, and these include the evolution of cell telephone services. A major evolution took place with the introduction of wireless technology. Initially, the concept of using the mobile phone as an instrument was rejected, but then the development and implementation of GSM /GPRS mobile phone services transformed the entire scenario. Soon after, Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones were introduced in the market, which provided an alternative means of data transfers over short and medium distances. Mobile phone companies are now trying their level best to exploit this gap in between the fixed and the movable communication technologies, which is also referred to as the history of mobile phones.
GSM cellular phone systems have come as a boon to people who had to pay hefty roaming charges due to the non-availability of their landlines in many parts of the world. A major change was witnessed in the field of telephony with the introduction of the RCC, which stands for Real Time Communication Service. RCC phones are more efficient than their predecessors. The RCC phone system is actually a compact communication device with RCA connections and a touch screen, which enable users to make free and cheap calls anywhere in the world. These devices also allow the user to receive or send fax messages and use the RCC system for performing video conference calls. All the major mobile service providers are providing RCC based services.
Another important milestone was witnessed when the mobile manufacturers started developing low-cost 4G mobile phones. In the recent times, the 3G networking standard was released, which was even cheaper than the earlier 2G standards. This made it possible for people to enjoy a plethora of benefits, which include better quality voice, web surfing on mobile devices, gaming, multimedia playing and various other features. However, the main article has to be mentioned that, the latest mobile phones are being used by almost all the citizens of this world nowadays, which can be said to be the history of mobile telephony.
The history of mobile phone technology can be traced back to the year 1970, when the first RCC, also known as Motorola Motorneva, was introduced into the market. This handset used analog signals, but was later integrated with digital techniques and various other technologies. However, the main function of this device was to convert analog audio signals into digitally encoded data, which was sent over a telephone line.
A decade later, the Motorola Maestro introduced a totally new type of RCC, known as the Electronically Erasable Programmable Robot. This robot was called “the gadget topper”. The gadget topper was similar to the modern smartphones in terms of functions, but was different because it was entirely software enabled, which meant that it required no external hardware components to run. This was the main reason why this device was not able to dislodge the Motorola Motorneva from its first place, as the smartphone market became more crowded and consisted of numerous sophisticated gadgets.
However, things did not end there, as the year 1974 witnessed yet another milestone in the history of mobile phones. Nokia, a company from Finland, launched a new mobile phone, which had some innovative features and was very attractive, thanks to the low prices. Moreover, Nokia used RCC to support the operation of the touch screen technology in the palm. This was the year when Finland was involved in a war with Russia, which resulted in a complete disruption of telecommunication networks. However, with the help of RCC, many Finnish telecommunications networks were able to resume their services.
In the recent years, the field of smartphones has witnessed major changes, thanks to the integration of 3G systems into the devices. In fact, the introduction of the smartphone has completely changed the way people communicate and remain connected with each other. However, the introduction of smartphone has also seen the rapid expansion of various network providers, who are now offering cheap mobile phone deals to suit the needs and budget of every user. Today, almost every user can easily get hold of a smartphone device, with the help of various online mobile phone shopping portals.
